3 Tips to Transition Your Wardrobe from Summer to Fall

Don’t put away those summer pieces just yet. At least here in NYC, we are guaranteed a few more weeks of warm (but still cooler) temps. Again, I am not someone to waste fashion or only wear a piece once and put it away. I like to get multiple wears out of my items. Thus, the summer to fall transition is a prime fashion time for me. In my last post, I shared 5 Summer Trends I’ll be Wearing into Fall. Today we are talking about a few easy and practical ways to keep those summer pieces in rotation for transitional looks. Sharing 3 of those tips with all of you today.

STYLE YOUR LONG SLEEVE MINI DRESSES

I have quite a few mini dresses that are absolutely early fall appropriate as my arms are covered and shielded from the cooler air. Depending on how you style the dress, you can definitely pull off a fall look, which brings me to my next point:

ADD BOOTS & BOOTIES TO YOUR ENSEMBLE

Yes, it’s time to dust them off and add a few more to the mix. Adding OTK boots or booties to a long sleeve mini dress is one of my favorite ways to make the most of my summer dresses, but still be outfitted for fall. Boots can, of course, also be styled with looks that feature jeans, leggings, skirts, you name it. When the boots come out, we all know that fall is on.

INCORPORATE SULTRY TONES & TEXTURES INTO YOUR ACCESSORIES

I love a good fall bag. Time to pull out and stock up on the ones with a warm color palette: cognac, wine, black, and even off white. Incorporate textures like croc, suede, and snake. Pulling from this color scheme and these textures will perfectly accentuate your refreshed fall looks.
