I know it’s been a minute since I hit y’all with a purely fashion-based blog post, but here we go! I was truly inspired during Fashion Week. I just love the creativity behind the looks and I love having new brands on my radar. I view creating outfits like a puzzle and it’s always so satisfying to see a BOMB piece and have an aha moment: THAT’S the missing piece to my look! To me, fashion is not about cost or flaunting. It’s art. It’s self-expression. It’s freedom.
With that being said, there are 5 items you should add to your wardrobe post-haste! Keep reading to see why and to shop my top picks.
CHOKER NECKLACE
The 90s trend has reemerged and I’m not talking black velvet with a dangling heart gem. I’m talking ornate, extra, and upgraded. Chokers add an element of chic and nostalgic surprise to your looks. They scream regal, mkay?! I’ve linked several above, but Zara is absolutely doing them best this season.
LOEWE SUNGLASSES
This accessory was MAJOR during this year’s fashion week. All the girlies had them. I knew I had to add to cart. The inflated sunglasses especially are just so bomb, so edgy, so different! This piece can take any look from here to there. Yes, so many have them, but you can dress them up or down and truly make them yours. These sunnies are a bit of a splurge, but definitely will remain in your wardrobe for years to come.
MINI BAGS
By now, I’m sure we’ve all seen mini bags have had a moment. They ARE the moment. My favorite brand to do it right now is Brandon Blackwood. He is truly a visionary, winning us over with his End Systemic Racism minis and making us fall all the more in love with his vastly eclectic style. Lush leathers and furs that purrrr abound. I also love that his insignia B initial is included on his bags now. B for Blackwood and BAZZELL too, mkay?! Get into it. His fall drop just dropped today. What y’all get??
LEATHER
Speaking of leather, you need a few pieces in your wardrobe. Leather will always be at the epitome of edge and catapult you into chic. I can’t say enough good things about this cropped leather blazer. It hits my torso just at the right spot and can be paired with so many different kinds of bottoms. Invest in a good leather piece. Thank me later.
CARGO PANTS
And lastly, cargo pants. They are back and they are bad! I love what brands are doing with them: denim, sateen, muted tones, pastels. And BAYBEE!!! Do you see these cut-outs! I was a little timid about having both my whole hips out, but these pants are so sexy, so bad! The fit is perfect. The high waist maximizes fit even more, and the ties at the hip are secure and hold where it needs to be held. I’m so glad I clicked add to cart on these and I definitely cannot wait to get my full wear’s worth.
I hope y’all found something you love. Add these pieces to your wardrobe and style it up all year long. Last night was my last night on OB and I’m about to celebrate being back in the land of the living during the day. I’ll do a rotation recap soon. Have a great weekend, y’all!
